Neidert completes basic training in Illinois

Navy Seaman Jeremiah D. Neidert, son of Marcelle and Edward Neidert of Carson City, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

During the eight-week program, Neidert completed a variety of training including classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.

He is a 2007 graduate of Carson High School.

Campbell graduates U.S. Naval Test Pilot School

Marine Corps Capt. Jade S. Campbell, son of Bill Campbell of Carson City, has graduated from U.S. Naval Test Pilot School in Patuxent River, Md.

Campbell completed the 10-month course which provides instruction to experienced pilots, flight officers, and engineers in the processes and techniques of aircraft and systems test and evaluation. Upon completion of the course, students are designated a officers or test engineers.

Campbell is a 1991 graduate of Carson City High School and joined the Marine Corps in October 1991. He is a 1997 graduate of University of Colorado, Boulder, in Boulder, Colo., where he received a bachelor's degree.
