Silver Springs, Yerington sites of Lyon Dem, GOP conventions

Silver Springs has been selected as the location for the Lyon County Democratic Convention.

The convention will begin at 10 a.m. Feb. 23, with registration at 8 a.m., at the Silver State High School gym on Spruce Street.

The Lyon County Republicans will hold their convention March 1 at Yerington High School, but Lyon GOP Chairman Howard Hirsch said they haven't settled on a time. "I'm thinking about 9 a.m., 9:30 a.m., something like that," he said.
