Doris Ross was born in Omaha, Neb., on Aug. 26, 1928, entered peacefully into rest on Feb. 17, 2008.

Beloved wife of Joe "the Chromer" Ross. A 30-year resident of Minden, her passing is 12 days shy of their 60th anniversary. Loving mother of Alan Ross of Minden, Nev., and Dorrene Ross of Newark, Calif.

She is survived by her sister Betty Simin of Folsom, Calif., niece JoAnn Robinson of Topeka, Kan., nephews Max Sawyer Jr. of Perry, Kan., Randal Simin of Fair Oaks, Calif., and Rob Simin of Orangevale, Calif., her favorite stray cat, Itty Bitty and many wonderful friends.

Doris was a retired Realtor who loved Carson Valley. Her hobbies included, but were not limited to, playing the penny and nickel slots, fishing, shopping, watching the birds outside her front window, enjoying her soap operas and feeding any little stray that happened into her home, both two footed and four.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial tribute on Saturday, Feb. 23rd at 3:30 PM at FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory, 3945 Fairview Drive, Carson City, NV, 89701, 775-882-2644.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity in Doris's name.
