Carson City


Blue Mime Group and Carson Middle School Drama Club put on show


"How to get a Prom Date Without Really Trying," and "The Least Offensive Play in the Whole Darn World," with an appearance by Carson High School's Blue Mime Group and the Carson Middle School Drama Club, play 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall.

The Blue mime group will perform as well as the Carson Middle School Drama Club. The middle school will offer "Annabelle Lee" by Edgar Allen Poe and "High And Lifted Up" by Mike Krath.




Pioneer Family Dance Saturday at the BAC Ballroom


Pioneer Family Dance will hold its monthly dance 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Brewery Arts Center Ballroom, 449 W. King St. Contra dance is a heart healthy activity.

Recycled art works sought for art show


Western Nevada College's annual Recycled Art(icles) show begins March 3-April 4.


Works of recycled art may be submitted Monday-Thursday at the college information desk in the lobby of the Bristlecone Building. Creativity reigns as local artists of all ages produce amazing pieces.


Awards will be given at the artists' reception on April 4, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. For information, call 445-3274.

Republican Convention to commence


The Douglas County Republican Convention begins at 8 a.m. Saturday at C.V.I.C. in Minden.


All Delegates and Alternates elected at the precinct/caucus meetings are requested to register at 8 a.m. The signed, white copy of the County Delegate/Alternate form received at the caucus must be presented in order to register. The meeting itself begins at 9 a.m.

'Gypsy' coming to Pioneer Center


"Gypsy" opens at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts 8 p.m. Friday; 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are on sale at the Pioneer Center box office or at www.pioneercenter.com or at (877) 840-0457. Ticket prices range from $35 to $70 and are subject to service charges. Tahoe Meadows


Trekking Tahoe Meadows


A free trek of Tahoe Meadows will be offered by the U.S. Forest Service 10 a.m. Saturday. Meet at the west end of Tahoe Meadows on the south side of the Mt. Rose Highway (NV431). Each guided snowshoe/ski trek travels to a scenic overlook of Lake Tahoe last about 2-3 hours. For information, call 884-8103.
