HONOLULU " University of Hawaii student Zachary Ellison says he was watching the Barack Obama donation ticker moving close to its millionth donor when he decided to give $25 to the campaign.

Ellison says the campaign has called to tell him he is the millionth donor to the Democratic presidential candidate's White House bid.

Ellison calls himself "one of those weird people who actually believes in politics."'

The 21-year-old student says he has $90,000 in student loans, so he likes Obama's plans to help students fund college tuition.

Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton are in a battle for votes and for donations.

Clinton reports her campaign raised $35 million in February, a turnaround from January, when Obama collected $36 million and she got less than half that.
