The Carson High boys and girls skiing teams tuned up for its showdown against Reno High with easy wins again on Tuesday against North Valleys.
Carson girls beat North Valleys 90-36 while the CHS boys defeated North Valleys 87-47. Both the CHS boys and girls teams improved to 2-0 in the Sierra League heading into today's contest against Sierra League power Reno. Carson will ski against Reno in the slalom today at noon at Mt. Rose.
Skiing in the giant slalom with the snow falling throughout, Spencer Brinson had an outstanding time to lead the boys and Kasey Potter had an outstanding time to lead the girls. Brinson won the boys race in 35.8 seconds as Carson swept the top nine spots.
Clayton Hollett and Jordan Dubron tied for second at 40.0 and they were followed by And Hook (40.8), Kurt Anderson (41.4), Nate Eng (41.7), Cameron Childers (42.7), Levi Masterson (42.9) and Andrew Richards (43.4). Taylor Phillips was 12th and Mike Weidemann was 13th for CHS.
Potter won the girls race in 39.0 as Carson swept the first five spots. Potter was followed by Nicole Carlevato (45.1), Katie Carter (45.1), Tina Midboe (46.6) and Krissie Gunn (47.2). Danielle Beasom was seventh (49.0), Katie Carlevato was ninth (52.4), Taylor Stokes was 10th (56.0), Rebecca Robertson was 11th (58.0), Emma Kortemeier was 12th and Samantha Fazzio was 13th.
