Carson City Health Department's food-service inspections and the date of inspection (all scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations):


• Szechwan Express, 3697 S. Carson St., restaurant, scored 95 points. Rice removed from original container was stored in a bulk bin with another bag of rice on top touching the stored rice. Celery and carrots were stored uncovered directly on the racks of the walk-in cooler. Nonfood contact surfaces of the hood and microwave are not clean. Kitchen walls are not clean. Cleaning and maintenance tools are not properly stored or are not properly maintained. Specifically the mop bucket contained dirty water. (Repeat violation)


• Subway No. 11114 (Southgate), 3959 S. Carson St., restaurant, scored 96 points. The concentration of quaternary ammonium compound sanitizer was not detectable in the three-sink.


• Dotty's No. 12, 3771 S. Carson St., bar/lounge, scored 100 points.


• Jack in the Box No. 7304, 3665 S. Carson St., restaurant, scored 100 points. Establishment is clean and well maintained.


• Blockbuster Video No. 95229, 1442 E. William St., convenience store, scored 100 points.


• FISH Family Dining, 138 E. Long St., food facility - fee exempt, scored 100 points.


• Starbucks Coffee No. 13204, 1410 E. William St., restaurant, scored 100 points.


• Baskin-Robbins, 3947 S. Carson St., ice cream shop, scored 100 points.


• McDonalds No. 4, 3344 N. Carson St., restaurant, scored 100 points.


• U.S. Submarine Base, 1894 E. Highway 50, restaurant, scored 100 points.

• Papa Murphys Take and Bake Pizza, restaurant, scored 100 points.


• Silver Dollar Casino, 1897 N. Edmonds Dr., bar/lounge, scored 98 points. Food contact surfaces of equipment or utensils are not clean. Speed guns and holsters have an accumulation of growth inside nozzle and holder. These items must be cleaned daily to maintain sanitary conditions.

• Jack in the Box No. 7320, 3225 Retail Dr., restaurant, scored 98 points. Lettuce bins being prepped with lettuce in them at three-compartment sink. This is not an appropriate area for food preparation.

• McDonalds No. 2282, 2001 N. Carson St., restaurant, scored 98 points. Several uncovered drinks located over the meat freezer next to the grill. Meat freezer open and bags opened.

• Economy Wash 'N Dry, 207 Hot Springs, convenience store, scored 100 points.


• 5 Buck Pizza, 240 E. Winnie Lane, take out, scored 100 points.


• Lifted Cafe, 2201 W. College Parkway, restaurant, scored 100 points.


• Mei's Dinner, 248 E. Winnie Lane, restaurant, scored 100 points.

• Ormsby Club, 800 S. Curry St., bar/lounge, scored 95 points. Readily perishable cold food is held about 46 degrees. The dairy products in the reach-in Perlick refrigerator are at temperatures of 48-49 degrees and are not being maintained at 40 degrees or below.

• Carson City Parks, Fuji Park, 701 Clear Creek Rd., food facility-fee exempt, exhibit hall and kitchen, scored 100 points.

• Carson Aerie #1006, 1380 E. Fifth St., food facility-fee exempt, scored 99 points. Cleaning and maintenance tools are not properly stored. The mop bucket was found with dirty water in it.


• Arby's, 1122 S. Carson St., restaurant, scored 97 points. Non-food contact surfaces of equipment are not clean. The back of the fryers are filled with food debris. (repeat violation) The hand washing sink in the women's sink in the women's restroom has a broken faucet and the back kitchen hand washing sink did not have a supply of paper towels.


• Mustang Sallie's Deuce's Grill, 420 N. Carson St., restaurant, scored 98 points. No certified food handler was present at the time of this inspection.

• Grand Central Pizza and Pasta, 3965 S. Carson St., restaurant, scored 100 points.


• Seven Eleven #2236-32303A, 3838 E. Highway 50, convenience store, scored 100 points.


• Country Store, 3389 E. Highway 50, retail grocery, scored 100 points.


• Sweet Sensations, 1800 E. Highway 50 #8, bakery, scored 100 points. Establishment is clean and well maintained.


• Rand Ave. Convenience Store, 1800 E. Highway 50, convenience store, scored 100 points.


• China Chef II, 3135 E. Highway 50, restaurant, scored 93 points. Chlorine residual of less than 50 ppm is detected on dish ware after mechanical final rinse. Food in the buffet line is under glass sneeze shield which are cracked in several places. Cloths used on food-contact surfaces did not contain sanitizer residual.


• Carl's Jr. Restaurant, 1315 S. Carson St., restaurant, scored 93 points. There is evidence of rodents in the establishment. Cloths used for wiping tables and booths were not sanitized between separate table and booths. A supply of sanitary (paper) towels were not present at the kitchen hand sink.
