Dayton

Rassagi to speak about Leland House renovation

The Historical Society of Dayton Valley will present a free slide show by Elizabeth Rassagi titled "The View From the Leland House" from 7-8:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Dayton Senior Citizens Center, 320 Old Dayton Valley Road, Dayton.

Rassagi, a resident of both Reno and Austin, Nev., for over 22 years restored her first Austin house over 7 years ago. In addition, she's recently renovated the old Leland House in Austin, a boarding house from the 1870s. Adding flavor to her presentation, Ms. Rassagi will be dressed in 1860s attire. The Historical Society of Dayton Valley invites attendees to do likewise. Complementary light refreshments will be served. Buffet and play at Legado

Red Cross sets up account to aid flood victims

The American Red Cross, Northern Nevada Chapter Local Disaster Fund has set up an account to aid victims of the flooding in Fernley. The account number is 3062563352. Donors can go to www.nevada.redcross.org and click on "donations." Donations may also be made at any Wells Fargo branch.

Open mike at the Gold Hill

Revelers can sing, play music, do comedy, or just watch the fun at the Gold Hill Hotel's Karaoke and Open Mike Talent Night hosted by Perry Arnn. The music begins at 7 p.m. Monday at the Gold Hill Hotel, 1540 Main St., Gold Hill. Call 847-0111.

Dinners celebrate recovery from addictions

A monthly "Celebrate Recovery" dinner sponsored by the New Hope Recovery Ranch for people battling drug and alcohol addictions will be held at 5 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Silver Springs Elementary School, 3900 W. Spruce Ave.

Elvis' stepbrother to appear at Piper's

Rick Stanley, the late Elvis Presley's stepbrother, will perform "Graceland to Grace," at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Piper's Opera House, 12 North B St., Virginia City. Patsy Cline event at Piper's

Joni Morris will perform the hits of Patsy Cline in a tribute concert at Piper's Opera House, 12 North B St., Virginia City at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Backed by her After Midnight band, Morris takes the audience back to Cline's heyday in the '50s and '60s, with "Crazy," "I Fall to Pieces" and "Walkin' After Midnight."

Fallon

Campbell Brothers play Barkley Theatre

CAC will present a concert of Sacred Steel music with the Campbell Brothers at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Barkley Theatre, Oats Park Art Center, 151 E. Park St., Fallon.

Tickets are $17 for CAC members, $20 for nonmembers, $10 for children and students and are available at Jeff's Copy Express, Postage Plus, ITT/NAS Fallon or by calling CAC at 423-1440. Doors will open at 7, and there will be a no-host art bar.

There will be a conversation with the artists about the roots of their musical tradition at 4 p.m. on the day of the performance. Call if interested in attending; the public is welcome.
