Eileen C. Borda, 81, a Carson City resident for the past 65 years, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2008 at her home in Carson City.
She was born on July 6, 1926 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to James J. Cannon and Isabel LeBlane. Eileen graduated from Carson High School and was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Carson City.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, sheep rancher Dutch Borda; a daughter Lucy Ann Sikes, and a sister Kathryn Smith.
Survivors include two sons: Paul J. Borda and Tom (Sue) Borda all of Carson City. one daughter: Terri (John) Shier of Long Beach, CA. five grandchildren: Stephanie (Jason) King, Jessica Borda, Matthew (Laurie) Borda, Samantha Shier, and Shannon Shier. one great granddaughter Jennalynn King.
Rosary service will be on Sunday, January 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Walton's Chapel of the Valley. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 28 at 10 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church and Entombment will be in Walton's Carson Gardens Mausoleum in Carson City.
