Carson's Young Business Professionals to meet


Carson City Young Business Professionals will host an educational forum 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Governor's Mansion, Nevada Room. Guest speakers will be Tammy Westergard from Redevelopment, City Manager Linda Ritter, and City Supervisor Robin Williamson. Forum is free to all current YBP members, and $5 for nonmembers. Wine tasting event uncorked today


Locals BBQ will host a Wine Education/Wine Tasting event from 6-8 p.m. today. More than 20 wines valued at close to $1,000 will be sampled. Noted professional wine judge and wine educator Ralph Swagle will be featured. Locals BBQ is located at 3849 S. Carson St. Cost is $20 per person. Advance registration is required. Adult class on acting at children's museum


Wild Horse Productions presents a six-week introductory class on the Meiser method of acting. The class is for actors ages 17 and up and will be held Thursday through March 6 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada. There will be a short performance for family and friends March 7.

AFSCME meeting scheduled


The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employee Retirees will meet 10 a.m. today at the AFSCME conference room, 709 E. Young at Heart heading to Nugget


The Young at Heart Senior Citizens Club is sponsoring a bus trip to John Ascuaga's Nugget Feb. 20. The bus leaves Smith's parking lot in Gardnerville at 8 a.m. and will return approximately 4:30 p.m. The cost is $25. Payment must be received at the Douglas County Senior Center by Feb. 6. Health fair on Wednesday


The Douglas County Senior Center will host the annual Senior Health Fair 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday in the Shannon Ballroom at the Carson Valley Inn, 1627 Highway 395.
