George Fatino

A Memorial service for George Fatino will be Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Walton's Chapel in Carson City. George passed away at his residence in Dayton, NV. on Jan. 27, 2008, he was 61 years old.

He was born Feb. 6, 1946 in Long Beach, Ca. to George and Nila Fatino. George made a career serving his country in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army retiring in 1991 after 28 years of service. He was a Vietnam Veteran, and received two Purple Hearts during his military career. George was a past member of the Masonic Lodge. George enjoyed fishing and he loved driving his 1955 Chevy Bel Air station wagon. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and his grandchildren. He often told his family that he was "Born to be a Dad". George moved to Dayton in 1999.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Saundra Bates who passed away in 2007.

He will be dearly missed by his family including his wife Betty, two sons, Jay D. Matthew Fatino and his wife, Kristen of Reno and Bryce Leinan of Dayton, and a daughter, Keri Sue Naomi Ritz, and her husband, Kevin of Ogden, Utah. He also leaves behind a brother, Brady Fatino and his wife, Doris of North Bend, Ore. and sister, Laura Lewis of Carson City. George is also missed by his grandson, Hunter Ritz and identical twin granddaughters, Bailey and Brooklyn Ritz, who lovingly referred to him as their "Grandpa Pancake".

Walton's Chapel of the Valley has been entrusted with his final arrangements.
