State, federal and city offices will be closed Friday for Independence Day.

Jump Around Carson will not be operating. Call 841-RIDE for information.

Western Nevada College campuses and learning centers in Carson City, Fallon, Minden, Fernley, Hawthorne, Lovelock, Smith Valley and Yerington will be closed.

The Carson City Marriage Bureau, 885 E. Musser St., will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Marriages licenses can be obtained Friday at Douglas County's Minden/Gardnerville Marriage Bureau, 1594 Esmeralda Ave., Rm. 105, by calling pager number 885-5995 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The South Lake Tahoe Marriage Bureau, 175 Highway 50 West, Stateline, will be open with an employee in the office from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The front counter of the Carson City Sheriff's Department will be closed.

Senior centers in Carson City, Storey County, Dayton, Silver Springs and Douglas County will be closed.

The Carson City Library will be closed.

Silver Stage Public Library will be closed Friday and Saturday, as well as its regularly scheduled closed days of Sunday and Monday.

Lyon and Douglas county public libraries, other county offices and the marriage bureau will be closed.

The U.S. Postal Service will close its Carson City Main Office, 1111 S. Roop St., and Ormsby Station, 2613 Empire Ranch Road.

Most banks will be closed. Check with your individual bank for business hours.

Citifare will be observing its Sunday schedule on Friday. Schedules can be found by visiting www.rtcwashoe.com. For more information call 348-RIDE.

The Nevada State Museum will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30.

The Nevada Appeal business offices will be closed, though paper delivery will occur as normal.
