Senior menus

Note: Menus are for the week of July 7 and are subject to change without notice. Choice of beverage is included with meals.

CARSON CITY

The luncheon menu for the Carson City Senior Citizens Center, 911 Beverly Drive, includes milk or coffee every meal.

Monday: Beet tostada on corn tortilla with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, onions and salsa, refried beans.

Tuesday: Sliced chicken on a bun, potato salad, coleslaw, applesauce, fresh orange slices.

Wednesday: Baked ham with fruit glaze, cauliflower with cheese sauce, romaine salad with fat-free dressing, bread with margarine, strawberry shortcake.

Thursday: Shrimp and crab salad with egg, carrot and celery sticks, pickled beets, crackers, diced pineapple, lemon bar.

Friday: Beef stroganoff with egg noodles, peas and carrots, garlic bread, green Jell-O with apricots, whipped topping.

DAYTON

The lunch menu for the Dayton Senior Center, 320 Old Dayton Valley Road:

Monday: Herb baked chicken, baked potato, veggie medley, whole wheat bread, apple.

Tuesday: Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, broccoli, whole wheat bread, pineapple.

Wednesday: Tuna salad, garden soup, Tater Tots, roll, peach.

Thursday: Pork tenderloin, glazed carrots, stuffing, whole wheat bread, applesauce.

Friday: French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, mixed berries, V8 and orange juice.

DOUGLAS COUNTY

The luncheon menu for the Douglas Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane.

Monday: Stuffed pepper, spinach spaghetti, mixed green salad, garlic bread, nectarine.

Tuesday: Swedish meatballs, romaine salad with cranberries, mashed potatoes, Oregon blend vegetables, peaches, white chocolate MacCookie.

Wednesday: Pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes with gravy, fruit salad, carrot, dinner roll, cake and ice cream.

Thursday: Beef fajita, lettuce, tomato, cheese, sour cream and salsa, Spanish rice, apple crisp.

Friday: Fish fillet sandwich, lettuce, tomato and cheese, with tartar sauce, curly fries, pineapple cup, lemon bars.

SILVER SPRINGS

The dinner menu for the Silver Springs Senior Center, 1050 Pyramid Ave.

Monday: Eggplant Parmesan, spaghetti, spinach, steamed glazed carrots, bread, orange juice, coconut cream pie.

Tuesday: Chicken teriyaki, fried rice, layered salad, fresh orange.

Wednesday: Spaghetti and meat sauce, green beans, green salad, garlic bread, lime Jell-O with pears.

Thursday: Liver and onions, baked potatoes, sautéed zucchini, apple sauce.

Friday: French toast, bacon, honeydew melon, orange juice, V8.

STOREY COUNTY

The Storey County Senior Citizens Center is located on the corner of E and Mill streets in Virginia City:

Monday: Spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic bread, green salad.

Tuesday: Grilled pork chops, potatoes augratin, dressing, vegetables, applesauce.

Wednesday: Creamed chicken in rice, spinach salad, fruit, blueberry muffin.

Thursday: Polish sausage, sauerkraut, potato salad, apple strudel.

Friday: Turkey bean soup, tuna sandwich, cantaloupe chunks, molasses cookies.

YERINGTON

The Yerington Senior Center is at 117 Tilson Way:

Monday: Baked Parmesan chicken, rice pilaf, 3-bean salad, vegetable, fruit dish.

Tuesday: Chicken strip wrap, potato salad, watermelon, rice pudding.

Wednesday: Egg salad sandwich, split pea soup, cottage cheese with fruit, banana cream pie.

Thursday: Barbecue shish kebabs over rice, green salad, fresh fruit, bread, raspberry bisque.

Friday: Quiche, fruit salad, hash browns, juice, applesauce.

FERNLEY

The menu for the Fernley Senior Center 1170 W. Newlands Drive:

Monday: Glazed baked ham with pineapple, sweet potatoes, broccoli, baked apple, bread with butter.

Tuesday: Spaghetti with meat sauce, cauliflower, veggie salad, garlic bread, orange.

Wednesday: Lemon pepper fish, corn, minestrone soup, mixed fruit, whole wheat bread with margarine.

Thursday: Polish sausage, sauerkraut, peas, peaches, rye bread, cookie.

Friday: Cold turkey sandwich, corn, potato chowder, lettuce, tomato, strawberries.
