David A. Alfred, 58, 29-year Nevada resident, died July 2, 2008.
Dave was born June 1, 1950 in Nebraska. He grew up in San Mateo and Fremont, Calif., where he graduated from Irvington High School. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and retired from the Nevada National Guard in 2001. Dave enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle with friends and playing drums. At the time of his death he was a manager for the Nevada Department of Transportation.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents Keith and June Alfred.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Alfred; siblings, Marianne Hastings (Bill), Jerry Alfred (Dianne); children, Brandi Gustafson (Curtis), David Alfred (Lisa); and grandson, Tiernan Gustafson.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Autumn Funerals and Cremations, Carson City.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, at Autumn Funerals and Cremations. The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, at Calvary Chapel Christian Fellowship. Interment will follow graveside at the Veterans Cemetery, Fernley, which will include a six-gun salute in his honor.
