David Charles was the tough luck loser for the Carson Cardinals in a 2-0 loss to the Northwest Royals on Friday in Reno.
Charles allowed just one earned run in pitching a complete game. Matt Rutledge, Tommy Preston and Tyler Smith were among those who hit safely for the Cardinals.
