Amelio "Thomas" Mongelli, 86, of Carson City passed away on July 14, 2008.

Born in Rochester, N.Y. August 19, 1921 to Maria (Corsino) Mongelli and Raffalle Mongelli.

He attended schools in Rochester and joined the Army in August 1942, served in the South Pacific, and was discharged in January 1946.

He lived and worked in the Pacific Northwest and in Sonora, Calif. before moving to Nevada in 1951 where he worked at the Naval Ammunition Depot and the El Capitan Club in Hawthorne.

Tom was in the gaming business in Reno and Las Vegas before retiring in 2005 and moving to Carson City to be near his family.

Preceded in death by his parents and brothers Frank, Constantino and Anthony.

Tom is survived by brothers Ralph of Rochester, N. Y., and Michael (Mary Jo) of Carson City; nieces Connie Sue LoBello (Dennis ), Mary Ellyn Buecheler (Kurt) , Susan Mongelli (Dennis Crumb) Leslie Ricks (Kasey), Maria Glanzmann (Brett), Jennifer Buck (James) and nephews Ralph Mongelli and Michael Mongelli (Jennifer) and numerous grand nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Friday in the Veteran's section of Lone Mt. Cemetery in Carson City.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley has been entrusted with his final arrangements.
