MADERA, CALIF. - If the race teams weren't chasing the set up on their cars they were chasing the deplorable track conditions at Madera Speedway in Madera, Calif., Saturday, and not even the winner was happy with the final results.

The Supermodified Racing Association made its fourth of six visits to Madera Speedway and neither of the two Nevada teams present were happy with what took place throughout the day.

S&S Motorsports of Carson City with driver Troy Regier of Dinuba, Calif. followed up their stunning win at Rocky Mountain Raceways on July 5 with a fair attempt to salvage a satisfactory night at Madera, managing a second-place finish in the main event.

Whitey Janssen of Dayton held steady with a respectable fourth-place finish in the main event, continuing his top-10 run and keeping in the top-6 in the points chase.

A complete story with photo will be in Monday's edition of the Nevada Appeal.
