David Charles pitched a three-hit shutout as the Carson Cardinals rolled to an 11-0 win over North Valleys on Friday at Ron McNutt Field.

Charles struck out six over five innings in the game that was called early due to the mercy rule.

Carson jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning after Tommy Preston singled and Matt Rutledge doubled. After Preston scored on a wild pitch, Paul Cagle hit an RBI sacrifice fly. Tyler Smith hit an RBI single and Connor Beattie followed with a two-run single to make it 5-0.

Stone's RBI single made it 6-0 in the second. In the third, Jeff Butler, Smith and Preston all singled and Stone hit a two-run double during a five-run rally that made it 11-0.

Preston, Smith, Beattie and Stone all had two hits, Cagle had a single and Colby Blueberg added an RBI. Carson will next play the Sierra Sun Devils at 5 p.m. Monday at Wooster.
