Will H. Claiborne, 84, a resident of Carson City since 1983, passed away June 4, 2008 at his home.

A visitation with prayers will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Walton's Chapel in Carson City. A graveside service with military honors will follow at Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery.

Will was born Sept. 18, 1923 in Lindsay, Okla. to W.H. and Ollie Irene Claiborne. He was a Baptist. Will was a World War II veteran serving as an aircraft mechanic in the Army Air Force. He was stationed in India, the Solomon Islands and spent three years in China. He was awarded three Bronze Stars. Will enjoyed flying and received his private pilots license in 1947.

Will was preceded in death by his wife of over sixty years, Irene Claiborne who passed away November 25, 2005.

He is survived by his loving niece, Dorothy Yeager and her husband, Carl of Carson City.

Will's final arrangements have been entrusted to Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
