Carson City Emblem Club installs new officers

Carson City Emblem Club No. 507 recently held its installation of new officers.

Installed to their respective offices are:

President, Ellen Peters; Jr. Past President, Phyllis Langlois; Vice President, Beverly Dean; Financial Secretary, Kendell Wilson; Treasurer, Cindy Byington; Corresponding Secretary, Linda Wilson; Recording Secretary, Betty Mahoney; Press Correspondent, Dorothy Crowder; Historian, Donna McElroy; Chairman of Trustees, Joyce Willman; 2nd Trustee, Francine Wadsworth; 3rd Trustee, Mona Smolenski; 4th Trustee, Carol Katauski; 5th Trustee, Carol Park; Marshal, Dee Bruse; 1st Assistant Marshal, DeLois Rose; 2nd Assistant Marshal, Lyn Horton; Chaplain, Carol Buder; 1st Guard, Peggy Truttman; 2nd Guard, Virginia Reimold.

The women were installed by the supreme president and her marshal, assisted by several state and supreme officers and others.

Charitable accomplishments were made to: WNC nursing scholarship, hearing impaired equipment for schools, trained dogs for hearing impaired, DARE program and donations to Carson, Dayton and Douglas high schools for Safe Grad Night.

Vendors sought for

sesquicentennial

Carson City Sesquicentennial Committee is seeking crafters and vendors to be part of the Sesquicentennial by participating in one of the two events Saturday, August 16.

The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada Annual Carnival will be held that day 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and the Sesquicentennial Birthday Celebration Chili Cookoff and Craft Fair will be noon- 6 p.m. at the Nugget Parking Lot.

Carson City Music Club hosts annual barbecue, music program

Carson City Music Club will host its annual bluegrass music program and barbecue at 6:30 p.m. July 14 at the Brewery Arts Center patio, 449 W. King St.

Reservations are required for the barbecue by July 9. Cost for the barbecue is $10 at the door; music only is $5. Bring a chair.
