Scurry signs with the Rockies

Galena High graduate Rod Scurry made it official when he signed with the Colorado Rockies on Friday.

It's likely that Scurry, a right-handed pitcher who just finished his career at the University of Nevada, will be assigned to the Rockies short season Low Class A affiliate, the Tri-City Dust Devils in the Northwest League.

This past season with Nevada, Scurry went 6-7 with a 4.87 earned run average and had 66 strikeouts in 81.1 innings.
