A Dayton man was killed Friday in a rollover accident near Lahontan Reservoir.

Bradford Gregory Nelson, 60, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 4 p.m. accident on Highway 50 East in Churchill County, according to Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper James S. Farmer.

Farmer said Nelson was eastbound in a 1994 Ford Explorer near Lahontan Reservoir one mile east of the Churchill/Lyon county line when his vehicle drifted off the road edge and overturned.

Nelson was not wearing a seatbelt and was killed as a result of the crash, Farmer said.

"I don't see any indication of braking, so he just drove off the road. Usually this is indicative of medical conditions," Farmer said. "I would even go so far as to say it's probably not due to (inattention because of) a cell phone or radio, because once he's off the road, he's gong to be doing some input (to correct) and there was nothing."

The crash is under investigation.
