An auxiliary club of the Elks Lodge donated proceeds from a second-hand clothing sale to the Carson City Sheriff's Department's DARE program.

DARE organizer Lisa Davis said the Carson City Emblem Club No. 507 presented a check for $784 to the Carson City Sheriff's Department this week.

"It is important to add an element of fun to prevention " it keeps the kids enthused and involved," said Emblem Club President Ellen Peters.
