A Carson City man was jailed Friday on a methamphetamine trafficking charge after officers received word of drug sales at a Lompa Lane home.

Jesus Guerero, 20, was booked into the Carson City Jail on suspicion of felony trafficking, failure to maintain a single lane and having an obstructed driver's view.

According to the arrest report, members of the Sheriff's Special Enforcement Team and the Lyon County Narcotics unit were conducting surveillance at 2281 Lompa Lane at about 3:30 p.m.

Officers reportedly witnessed a man repeatedly walk between the home and the garage, then leave in a Pontiac Grand Am. While being followed by an officer, the Pontiac allegedly crossed the center line at Northridge and Eastridge drives. Officers also observed an object hanging from his rearview window obstructing the driver's view.

A traffic stop was made at Carriage Crest and Northridge drives. When a drug-sniffing dog signaled there may be drugs in the vehicle, officers looked in the passenger-side dashboard and allegedly recovered $2,700 in cash and a container holding 249 grams of methamphetamine.

Guerero is being held on $250,000 bail.
