Morning Appeal, July 22, 1898

The Flag of the Capitol was at half mast yesterday because of the news from San Francisco that Adjutant General Galusha had died at the German Hospital.

General Galusha was born in Kirkland Oneida county, New York on April 18, 1845, and was therefore 53 years and 3 months of age at the time of his demise.

He was a member of Carson Lodge No. 1 F & A. M., and of Custer Post G A R.

He was for many years connected with the Land Office in this city. Under the present administration of State affairs, he was appointed Adjutant General, in which position he has served faithfully and well. For some time he has been ill and it was evident to himself as well as his many friends that the end was not far distant.

His daughter, Mrs. D. M. Jennison, will arrive in Carson this morning with the remains when the funeral arrangements will be made. It will, however, in all likelihood take place under the auspices of Carson Lodge, F. & A. M., and will be a military funeral.
