Roadrunners RV Club June campout

The Carson City Roadrunners RV Club has scheduled its June campout for Monday-Thursday at Washoe Lake State Park. Those who have the Nevada Seniors State Park Annual Permit should bring it. Activities will include a potluck, meeting, hiking, campfires, and fun and games. For information, call 267-3021.

Youth football league sign-ups

Scholars & Champions Youth Football League will be hold fall sign-ups 5:30-7 p.m., at the following locations and dates. Monday at the Pizza Barn in Minden; Tuesday at the Pizza Factory in Dayton; Wednesday at Q's BBQ in Carson City; Thursday at James Lee Park gazebo in Indian Hills. Players ages 8 to 14 compete in 3 divisions, Prep 8-9, College 10-11 and Pro 12-14. The cost is $125 per player and $100 for cheer. Please bring a copy of your child's birth certificate. Car club looking for volunteers

Karson Kruzers seeks volunteers for their annual "Run What Cha Brung" car event on Saturday at Fuji Park. Judges need to be 18 or older and must not be registered in the show.

Volunteers will meet at 10 a.m. at Fuji Park and have a mini-shop lesson. Judging will begin at 11 a.m. All judges receive a dinner for two, commemorative mug and T-shirt. For information, call 883-0927 or 884-1606.

Library hopes to spread 'reading bug'

Carson City Library hosts storyteller Tom McCormack, 6:30 p.m., Thursday in the library auditorium. This presentation is part of the youth department's annual Summer Reading Program sponsored by the Friends of the Carson City Library.

This year's theme, "Catch the Reading Bug,"" provides program opportunities that will "open a can of worms." This story-musician will play different insect-instruments to help our unwelcome guests bug-out to the Infestation Fest. The library is located at 900 N. Roop St. For information, call 887-2244.

Tahoe Queen paddlewheeler to mark No. 25

Lake Tahoe Cruises, operated by ARAMARK Harrison Lodging, will host a grand re-opening celebration aboard the recently renovated Tahoe Queen paddlewheeler in honor of her 25th anniversary. The event, 9 a.m., today is part of the weekend-long Opening Days Lake Tahoe. Polish pianist plays Incline Village

As part of its ongoing Educational Outreach Program, the Lake Tahoe Music Festival will host a benefit concert today featuring pianist Jacek Mysinski, considered to be one of the most outstanding pianists of his generation.

A native of Warsaw, Poland where he graduated from the Frederick Chopin School in Warsaw, Myskinski is a recent graduate in piano at the Juilliard School and is acclaimed internationally for his imaginative, original and communicative interpretations.

The concert is at 3 p.m. at the Parasol Foundation Center, 948 Incline Way in Incline Village. Tickets are $40 for adults and students ages 18 and under are free. Call (530) 583-3101.
