Henton Ellis Fletcher, 91, died June 2, 2008. A patient in a recovery ward at Cassia County Hospital in Burley Idaho, where health issues prevented a return to the Gardnerville area where he and his spouse were under the care of their loving granddaughter, Rhonda Amerson.

A service will be 12:15 p.m., July 6 at the Community Church in Genoa for the immediate family and friends of Mr. Fletcher.

Born July 6, 1916 in Rutherford Tenn. to Walter W. Fletcher and Nola Mae Record. Mr. Fletcher graduated from his local high school in 1936 where he and his brother James broke local and national track event records. He served in the U. S. Navy and patrolled the South China Seas in 1937 on a Navy destroyer. He obtained an honorable discharge in 1941. He worked as an electrician in various departments of defense depots and bases during the war years and also at the Oakridge Tenn., nuclear weapons development facility.

He leaves his wife, Imogene of 65 years, two sons, Lon and Warner Fletcher of Gardnerville; two granddaughters Rhonda Amerson of Gardnerville and Melissa Fletcher of Sacramento; two grandsons, Lon Jr. Fletcher of Redding Calif. and Mitch Fletcher of Boston Mass. and five great grandchildren, Lindsey and Levi of Redding, Calif., James Fletcher, of Sacramento Calif. and Jessica and Julia Amerson of Gardnerville.
