Name: Tommie Coy

How long have you lived here? 15 years

Where did you live before moving to your present home? Red Bluff, Calif.

How long a volunteer at present location? 13 years

How long have you been a volunteer, overall? 13 years

Specific job duties? Treasurer for Advisory Council; helping dining room; run errands for center; help with fundraisers.

How much time do you volunteer per week? It varies about 15-20 hours

Why, how did you become a volunteer? First started by taking a parent to the center for activities, then I saw a need for volunteers.

Favorite thing about volunteering? Seeing the gratitude people have, when you do that little something for them.

Family? Husband Julian; two sons, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

If retired, former profession? Worked in family restaurant. Then a few years ago worked the summer food school program for Lyon County, enjoyed doing that for 6 years/

What would you tell others to encourage them to become a volunteer? Give of your time, if you are able to. There is fulfillment in doing so. It can be fun and enjoyable at this time in our lives.
