Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, mainly Fairview Drive between Roop Street and South Lompa Lane, primarily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., and Highway 50 East between Airport Road and Saliman Road.
The closure of westbound Fairview Drive from Saliman Road to Roop Street is in effect through Aug. 31. Alternate routes of travel are Colorado Street to the south, and Little Lane to the north.
Traffic will be controlled at times; alternate routes are advised.
The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 5:59 a.m. all roads open with no controls.
Today's weather will be partly cloudy with areas of smoke and haze in the morning, isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs 84-94 with west winds around 10 mph shifting to the south in the afternoon.
Tonight, partly cloudy in the evening then clearing, lows 53-63 with west winds 15-20 mph decreasing to around 10 mph after midnight. Isolated thunderstorms in the evening.
