St. Paul's Episcopal Church


St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Virginia City welcomes the Knights Templar of Carson City and Reno to Easter Sunday service at 9:30 a.m. March 23, to celebrate their beginning more than 100 years ago.


The Masonic organization members wear uniforms made in France with embroidery spun from gold and silver mined in the area and woven on a special loom that no longer exists.

First United Methodist Church


The First United Methodist Church will hold services at 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. on Palm/Passion Sunday.


Shouts of Hosanna to the reading of Christ's passion are a part of this service.


The Chancel Choir will present the Easter Cantata, "Behold what Manner of Love," and the Hosanna Handbells will provide special music.


The 5 p.m. Gathering service will serve a special "Last Supper" meal.


A centering prayer workshop with Rev. Rob Jennings-Teats is at 5 p.m. Wednesday; a 7 p.m. Tenebrae service is held on Holy Thursday, Thursday with the passion of Christ and service of communion.


A Community Ecumenical service is held at noon Good Friday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Community, 3000 N. Lompa Lane.


Easter Sunday services are at dawn, 6:45 a.m. on the lawn, weather permitting, a service of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, with Easter services at 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m., and 5 p.m. for contemporary service "The Gathering" celebrating the Resurrection of Christ with music, word and prayer.

First Presbyterian Church of Carson City


First Presbyterian Church will hold special services for Lent beginning Palm Sunday at 9 and 10:45 a.m.; Maundy Thursday features a 6 p.m. supper and 7 p.m. worship service with Seder and Tenebrae remembrances; Easter/Resurrection Sunday will have a sunrise service at 7 a.m., and worship services at 9 and 10:45 a.m.

The Connection Church in Dayton


The Connection Church will hold a service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday in Dayton.

St. Gall Catholic Church


Lenten and Easter events at St. Gall Catholic Church, 1343 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville:


The Prayer Path labyrinth experience takes about 30-60 minutes. The labyrinth is in St. Gall Pastoral Center. Hours of operation are: 9 a.m. -4 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon and 5-8 p.m. Sunday-Tuesday.

Holy Week services at St. Peter's Episcopal Church begin Palm Sunday with an 8 a.m. Rite II service, 9 a.m. Christian education and 10 a.m. contemporary service with child care.


On Good Friday, an Ecumenical service is at noon Friday at St. Teresa Catholic Community, 3000 N. Lompa Lane; a 7 p.m. Good Friday service is at St. Peter's Church.


Holy Saturday liturgy is at 5:30 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Easter vigil service and baptism.

First Christian Church, 2211 Mouton Drive in Carson City, will host Joani Tabor in concert at 7 p.m. Good Friday, and at 8 and 10:30 a.m., and 6 p.m. Easter Sunday.
