Washoe educator fired for allegedly impregnating student

RENO " A Washoe County school counselor has been fired for impregnating one of his students.

School district spokesman Steve Mulvenon says Daniel Bryant was notified by letter Monday that his termination was final.

Officials say Bryant met the girl when he was her counselor at Vaughn Middle School. The girl is now 19.

Bryant denied being the father of the child when the district investigated the allegations in November and placed him on administrative leave with pay.

He was fired in January but appealed the action. His appeal was denied last week.

District officials say they also will seek to revoke Bryant's teaching and counseling licenses.
