A fine quarry of marble has been found in Churchill Canton, Lyon County. In the west side, the deposit is a pure white marble, while in the east it is a variegated black and white, and it is beautifully mottled.

State Superintendent of Instruction Orvis Ring today appointed Geo. E. Kitzmeyer of this city to succeed the late John P. Medes as a member of the board of school trustees.

Governor Kirman announced the appointment of Mrs. Margaret Brodigan to the office of the supreme court. She succeeds her husband, the late George Brodigan, who passed away at the family home in this city.

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hardy honored their son, Don at his 11th birthday party. Helping Don celebrate were Misses Kathy Ryan, Jo Anne Haines, Candy Owen, Lyn Pochop, Andrea Hesse, Skippy Thurman, Arnold Kelley, Mark Bowers, Dicky Richardson, Shorty Hill and Ronald Allen.
