• The 14th Annual Cowboy Jubilee and Poetry event was put on by 120-member Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare Auxiliary, which was established in 1952 as a volunteer-based blood transportation service for the Carson-Tahoe Hospital and, since June 2007, has pledged more than $86,000 for new equipment. It has evolved into an organization to support all aspects of the Hospital, including the gift shop.
• The Mountain Oyster Festival and St. Patrick's Day parade in Virginia City will take place on Saturday. A story in Monday's edition had the incorrect date.
