A Fallon man already in custody was arrested Tuesday afternoon for allegedly committing a lewd act upon a child and for allegedly using a boy in the production of pornography at least once, along with hundreds of other sex crimes against children.

Daniel DeWayne Green, 41, was arrested on one count of lewdness with a child under the age of 14, four counts of use of a minor as a subject in the production of pornography, three counts of unlawfully obtaining and using a personal identification of another to harm a person and 265 counts of possession of visual pornography of a person under 16 years of age.

Churchill County Sheriff Rich Ingram said Green was already in custody on suspicion of failing to register as a sex offender, resisting/obstructing/delaying a peace officer and a warrant from the Oregon Parole Board.

Sheriff deputies were called to Green's residence on Reno Highway in Fallon in November by a woman who reported suspicious activity. According to a press release from the Churchill County District Attorney's Office, the investigation began when the CCSO received a report that minor boys regularly visited a RV at 4910 Reno Highway. Deputies spoke to Green, who claimed to be Tim Green, his brother. Police soon after discovered this information was false.

On Nov. 18, the sheriff's office asked for and received a search warrant to search Green's motorhome and found him hiding in the residence. He was then arrested for failing to register as a sex offender in Churchill County, resisting/obstructing/delaying a peace officer and the warrant from the Oregon.

During the arrest, deputies saw evidence of possible sex crimes against children and received a second search warrant. Ingram said these facts led to the latest charges being filed.

While the investigation is far from complete, Ingram said one juvenile from Churchill County has been identified as a victim.

He said it did not take long to search the home, but it took a while to analyze all the evidence removed from the motor home.

Deputy District Attorney Craig Mingay said the charge of using a minor as a subject in the production of pornography means a juvenile was filmed or photographed after the child was encouraged to engage in a sex or pornographic act. The possession of visual pornography of a person under the age of 16, Mingay said, could relate to pictures pulled off the Internet.

This is not the first time Green has been arrested on sex crimes.

Green has been identified as a sexual predator in the state of Oregon after being convicted of attempted sodomy and kidnapping in July 1986, according to the State of Oregon Sex Offender Inquiry System. His target was listed as a 7-year-old boy.

Green will have a status hearing at 9 a.m. Thursday in Fallon Justice Court and a preliminary hearing at 9 a.m. March 21 in justice court.

He is being held at the Churchill County Jail on a $300,000 bail.
