Cheers, tears and reflection

Sunday is either celebrated as Palm Sunday or Passion Sunday.

On Palm Sunday it is celebrated with Jesus' joyous entry into Jerusalem. In many of our churches we will have the children marching in waving palm branches and signing familiar joyous pre-Easter or Easter hymns.

But we will also be remembering that this is the time of Jesus' arrest and trial. So the day will end with sober reflection. And I think it will bring once more to mind our relationship with Jesus.

Have we made Jesus Christ the Lord of our lives? Have we sought His guidance in our everyday life decisions? Are we prepared to sing the hymns of resurrection, the hymns that tell of a changed life, a life lived out for the welfare of humanity.

As Jesus turned no one away, can we do the same? Let us wave our palm branches, let us walk the walk and follow Jesus.
