Free JAC rides on Monday
The city's bus service, Jump Around Carson (JAC), will offer free rides from 6:30 p.m. until midnight on St. Patrick's Day.
People should call 841-RIDE if they need a ride.
Reno's bus service has done the same thing to help cut down on the number of drunken drivers, said Patrick Pittenger, city transportation director, and it could also work for Carson City.
More people are also riding the buses in general, he said, with the February ridership setting a record with 9,400 riders.

Young at Heart dance at Douglas Senior Center

Vendors sought for 'Shakespeare' play
Gold Hill Theater Troupe and Nevada Shakespeare Company is seeking vendors for the annual "Shakespeare on the Rocks" production July 24-26, July 31-Aug. 2, and Aug. 7-9, in Gold Hill. The event is held at the Gazebo and Brewery grounds across the street from the Gold Hill Hotel. Space is limited.
