Rodriguez WAC Hitter of the Week

University of Nevada third baseman Jason Rodriguez was named the Western Athletic Conference's Hitter of the Week on Monday. Rodriguez, a senior from Riverside, Calif., hit .562 (9-for-16) with nine runs, two doubles, four home runs and 10 RBI as the Wolf Pack split four games last week. Last Tuesday, Rodriguez went 3-for-5 with two runs, three RBI, a double and two-run homer in a win against Saint Mary's.

On Thursday, he went 2-for-5 with a run, three RBI and another two-run homer in a loss to UC Davis. On Friday, he went 3-for-3 with five runs, three RBI, two walks, a double and two homers, a solo shot and a two-run shot, in a 10-1 win over Oregon State. He finished the week with a 1.438 slugging percentage and a .650 on base percentage.

Estes struggles in start vs. Arizona

Shawn Estes struggled again on Monday in his attempt to make the San Diego Padres opening day roster.

Estes, a 1991 Douglas High graduate, allowed five runs on 10 hits through 4.2 innings in taking the loss for the Padres in an 8-4 defeat to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Estes (0-3) struck out three and walked none and now has a 15.00 earned run average this spring. Estes is trying to become the Padres' fifth starter.

Will call for Pack game opens at 10

The Wolf Pack Ticket Office will have tickets available at will call for fans who purchased tickets for Nevada's College Basketball Invitational beginning at 10 a.m. this morning in the lower level of Legacy Hall.

Fans are encouraged to pick up their tickets early to avoid long lines at Lawlor Events Center. Will call will be in Legacy Hall until 4 p.m. when all remaining will call tickets will be moved to the box office at Lawlor Events Center. Will call at Lawlor will open at 5 p.m. when the arena doors open.
