Some numbers from last year's hunters

According to Don Sefton, the owner of Systems Consultants of Fallon, the private company that conducts the computerized drawings for Nevada's big game hunting tags, here are some interesting statistics for last year, 2007:

Total number of applicants; 52,878.

Total number of applications by those applicants: 141,049.

Applications via the Internet: 125,747. Applications via paper: 13,413. Applications by both the Internet and paper: 661.

There were 37,209 residents who applied for tags.

There were 15,669 Non-Residents who applied.

Special Note: The State of Utah (another of Systems Consultants clients) went to an all-Internet drawing for its big game tags this year.
