The Carson City Sheriff's Office is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of suspects in recent stabbing cases, most recently Sunday night at the Jack In The Box restaurant on Market Street.

In that case, just before 9 p.m. two male gang members walked into the restaurant in the North Carson Wal-Mart shopping center and began calling out an employee. The employee the rival gang members were looking for was not there. Instead, an altercation ensued with another employee " one allegedly unaffiliated with either gang.

The employee sustained minor injuries.

The two assailants in that case have not been arrested. Information in Wednesday's Appeal saying they were apprehended was incorrect.

In the most recent previous case, on March 13 an 18-year-old Carson City man, also a gang member, was jumped by three rival gang members while walking down Long Street. He was stabbed in the heart.

The Sheriff's Office is putting a priority on stemming the escalation of gang-related crime in recent months, and is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of suspects in either of the crimes. If you have information, call 887-2020, ext. 41402.
