MoTiYoGaChi offered at Western Nevada College


Western Nevada College is offering a fitness class called MoTiYoGaChi, 6-8:45 p.m., March 26-May 28, Dini Center Fitness Room. The cost is $58.75.


The one credit course mixes yoga, tai chi, chi kung and other movements with world music in a class that strengthens the body, energizes the spirit and calms the mind.

Low income help for pet spay/neuter available




The Carson City Animal Services and SPCA of Northern Nevada sponsor Maddie's Spay/Neuter Project in Nevada to help low income people in Northern Nevada get their pets fixed.


To qualify a valid Medicaid or Nevada Check-up Card must be presented and owners must live in Carson City, Douglas County, Lyon County, Churchill County or Washoe County. Cost is $20 dog spay/neuter; $10 for cat spay/neuter.

Rotary accepting scholarship applications


The Carson City Rotary Club is accepting applications for "Scholarsteps" Scholarship. Applications are due April 1.


This scholarship provides an award up to $12,000 over four years beginning Fall 2008 to a Carson City resident pursuing a college degree at Western Nevada College.


Applicant must be a Carson City resident, 3.0 or better GPA, full-time student and a personal statement addressing educational and career goals, community involvement/service to community and financial need. To apply, visit www.wnc.edu or call 445-3264.
