Douglas James Boddy, 55, a Gardnerville resident passed away on March 22, 2008 at his home.

Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. at Carson Valley Christian Center.

Doug was born on February 22, 1953 in Rochester, N.Y. to William and Marion Boddy. He attended Rush-Henrietta high school in Henrietta, N.Y. Doug also served as an altar boy at Pinnacle Lutheran Church in Henrietta.

He moved out West at the age of 18. He married Toni on March 20, 1977. In 1985, the Boddy's moved to Carson Valley from Lake Tahoe where they raised their two daughters. Doug worked for United States Forest Service on a fire crew, Douglas Disposal for ten years, and then working for Custom Door Fabrication.

He served as a member of the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce in the early 1990is, and became a sponsor for the DARE program. He was a huge NASCAR fan, and enjoyed many live race events. Doug loved traveling hunting and fishing.

Doug is survived by his wife Toni Boddy, daughters Stacia and Caitlin Boddy all of Gardnerville, parents William and Marion Boddy of Ocala, Fla., brother Jerold Boddy of Rochester, N.Y. one grandchild, and two nieces. Doug was preceded in death by his grandparents Corwin and Edith Boddy and Carl and Elizabeth Holler, as well as several aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be directed to a college trust fund for Caitlin Boddy at Wells Fargo in Minden account # 127-7434807.

Arrangements are in the trusted care of Autumn Funerals and Cremations.
