A spaghetti dinner in Dayton on May 16 will benefit the family of a Dayton girl struck in a crosswalk last weekend.

The dinner and a raffle will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Dayton Elementary School, 285 Old Dayton Valley Rd. Tickets are on sale for $15 for a family of four and $1 per each additional child or $5 per adult and $3 per child under 13.

Items in the raffle were donated by local businesses, said Kadee Mason, president of the Dayton Elementary School Booster Club which is hosting the event.

Lindsay Davidson, 7, was struck by a car as she and a 12-year-old neighbor returned home from a three-block walk to a convenience store. An investigation into the accident continues.

The Dayton Elementary School second-grader suffered a ruptured spleen, and a head injury that has yet to be assessed because she is under sedation, said her father Spencer Davidson.

In addition to the spaghetti dinner, a barbecue is slated for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Carson City Wal-Mart. For $3, people can purchase a hot dog, chips and a soda, with the proceeds going to the Davidson family.

The Dayton Elementary booster club will also have a donation jar at the Oodles of Noodles event Saturday in on Main Street in Dayton.

Donations can also be made at any Bank of America branch to the Lindsay Davidson Medical Fund.
