Richard "Buster" Victor Tilton, 80, of Reno, passed away March 12, 2008 at Renown Regional Medical Center. He was born June 17, 1927 in Newburgh, Ind. to Richard and Helen Tilton. Richard was a graduate of the University of Nevada, and played football from 1946-1949. He served overseas in Germany in the United States Army from 1950-1952. He will be remembered as a Nevada character.

Buster resided in Carson City. He was the owner of David's Furniture on Hot Springs Road for the past 15 years.

Richard is survived by two sons, Robert Tilton, of Truckee, Calif. and Richard Victor Tilton Jr. of Reno, daughter, Bille Lee Trujillo, Las Vegas, two grandsons, Robert and Paul Tilton, and three great-grandchildren, Cody, Andrew, and Adelina Tilton.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Walton's Funeral Home, 875 West Second Street, Reno. Private inurnment will take place at Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley.

He will be truly missed by friends and loved ones.
