Cloudy and cool today; chance of showers through Memorial Day weekend

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, mainly Fairview Drive between Roop Street and South Edmonds, and Highway 50 East between Airport Road and Saliman Road.

Traffic will be controlled at times; alternate routes are advised.

The Nevada Department of Transportation at 6:11 a.m. reports all routes open in Northern Nevada with no controls with the exception of the following:

Highway 395 in Washoe Valley " Open with no controls, high wind advisory: campers and trailers are not advised for 6 miles between 2.3 miles north of Eastlake Boulevard and Winters Ranch.

SR 431 " Snow tires or chains required for 5.6 miles between 4.8 miles north of junction SR 28 and 10.4 miles north of junction SR 28.

Today's weather will be mostly cloudy with isolated sprinkles or showers in the morning with a slight chance of thunderstorms south and east of Reno. Highs 51-61 with north winds 10-20 mph wit gusts up to 35 mph.

Tonight, mostly cloudy with isolated showers in the evening then scattered showers after midnight with lows 36-46 and northeast winds 10-20 mph decreasing to up to 10 mph in the evening.

Friday, cloudy with a slight chance of showers in the morning then chance of showers in the afternoon with slow level 6500-7000 feet. Highs 51-61 with north winds up to 10 mph shifting to the west in the afternoon.
