Carson City


The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in court:


• Sheila Mauppins Winder, 41 of Carson City, was arrested at 1:53 p.m. Wednesday at Safeway on suspicion of felony shoplifting, misdemeanor theft and a warrant for contempt of court. Bail was set at $3,139.


• A 27-year-old Carson City musician and cook was arrested at 3:09 a.m. Wednesday in the 1800 block of College Parkway on a warrant for misdemeanor contempt of court. Bail was set at $287. Also arrested was a 21-year-old Carson City man who also listed his occupation as musician and cook, on suspicion of misdemeanor contempt of court on a drug paraphernalia charge out of Reno. His bail was set at $805.


• Jayson Smith, 33, of Silver Springs, was arrested at 11:57 p.m. in the 500 block of East William Street on suspicion of misdemeanor second-offense drunken driving, having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, driving on a revoked license and failure to maintain lane. Bail was set at $3,558.


• A 58--year-old self-employed Gardnerville woman surrendered to authorities at 1:50 p.m. on misdemeanor drunken driving warrant. Bail was set at $1,132.


The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday:


• Complaint from a guest that there was yelling outside a South Carson Street motel at 1:23 a.m.


• Report of someone stealing items from an unlocked garage on Spooner Drive.


• Shoplifting suspect arrested at Safeway at 1:53 p.m.


• Shoplifting suspect arrested at Safeway at 3 p.m.


• A woman reported at 3:40 p.m. that she hired workers to do yard work, and instead they took items from her home and didn't do the work.


• Accident at North Carson Street and West College Parkway at 5:13 p.m.


• Fight report at Toads in the 300 block of East William Street at 9:55 p.m.


• A woman reported at 10:03 p.m. that her phone was stolen from her purse by a teen.


Lyon County


The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday:


• A caller reported he watched his neighbors parked vehicle get struck by another car and the driver leave the scene at 11:16 a.m. in Fernley.


• Felony arrest in Silver Springs at 2:10 p.m.


• Report of a Silver Springs boy walking in on his mother posing nude in front of a camera.


• A Silver Springs parent reported their son charged more $700 on their credit card without their permission.


• Felony arrest on Elm Street in Silver Springs at 5:17 p.m.


Storey County


The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday:


• Traffic citation issued at 6:34 a.m. on USA Parkway.


• A woman reported she was "grabbed" by a known suspect.


• Report of a semi rolling over on Interstate 80 at 10:26 a.m.


The following people were booked into the Storey County Jail recently:


• A 54-year-old Reno man was arrested in Lockwood on Saturday on suspicion of misdemeanor drunken driving.


• 22-year-old Virginia City woman was arrested May 16 on Six Mile Canyon Road on suspicion of misdemeanor driving under the influence of drugs.


• David Berdinski, 61 of Reno, was arrested in the Virginia City Highlands on May 15 on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance.


• Sam Berning, 26 of Dayton, was arrested on Six Mile Canyon Road on Saturday on suspicion of felony driving under the influence, causing injury.


• A 43-year-old Virginia City was arrested Sunday on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery.
