Julian Ballatore-South, of Dayton, is collecting tattered, worn and faded flags for his Eagle Scout Project. The flags will be formally retired at a ceremony June 11.
Marked boxes for collecting flags are at the Dayton Elementary School, and Dayton Intermediate and High Schools until Thursday, and at Dayton Pizza Factory and Central Lyon County Fire Protection District until June 9.
The Flag Retirement Ceremony, will be at 5 p.m., June 11 at Dayton Valley Event Center and Rodeo Grounds, 500 Schaad Lane. For information, call 246-3870.
