Carson City


Horse adoption at Warm Springs Correctional Center Saturday


The Bureau of Land Management, the Nevada Department of Agriculture and the Nevada Department of Corrections hold a special horse adoption event 10 a.m., Saturday Warm Springs Correctional Center, 3301 E. 5th Street. Fifteen saddle-trained horses from the ranges of Nevada will graduate from months of intensive training and are looking for good homes. Potential adopters are asked to enter the Center off Fairview Drive (formerly Edmonds Drive). For information or to pre-qualify for the weekend adoption call 861-6469 or 343-9118.




Annual youth group rummage sale


Good Shepherd Wesleyan Church's youth group will hold its annual rummage sale at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, 1505 Railroad Drive. The sale is held to raise funds for the teens to attend summer camp. For information, call 885-8361.

Highway 50 wagon train starts Sunday


The Highway 50 Association will start its annual wagon train on Sunday. Rendezvous and registration Saturday at Whittell High School, 240 Warrior Way, Zephyr Cove.
