McAlman to compete in regionals
Carson High graduate Alex McAlman will compete in this weekend's NCAA West Regionals in women's track.
McAlman, a sophomore, will compete in the meet being held today and Friday at Cal State Northridge. The top five finishers will automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships.
McAlman qualified for regionals in the discus and the hammer throw. McAlman set personal bests in both events this season. She threw 155 feet, 8 inches in the discus and 183-7 in the hammer.
The hammer throw trials and finals will be held at 10 am. today and the discus trials and finals will be held at 3 p.m. today.
Peterson shoots hole-in-one
Carson City's Rich Peterson recently shot a hole-in-one at Eagle Valley's East Course. He fired his ace from the white tee on he fourth hole. Doc Scrivner and Bill Witt witnessed the shot.
