If you are like me, you are scrambling around this week to get to all the upcoming graduations. You need to know the times, the places and the tips.

I was talking to Lila Brown last week, and she will be attending Carson Middle School to watch her grandsons graduate, and I will be over there as well watching my niece, Lanae Riggs, receive her diploma.

Here is the scoop for this graduation ceremony. Currently Carson Middle is under construction. Principal Sam Santillo should receive a medal for running that school so amazingly while it has been under construction for the entire year.

However, there is a little glitch for graduation day. School gets out at 11:15 a.m., school buses have to pick up the children and get out of there prior to the graduation commencement.

I know if you are like me, you'll want to arrive early and get a close parking spot. Graduation does not start until 12:30 p.m., and really to get a great spot, you need to allow those school buses to clear out of the area.

So be patient - this is a once in a life time event, and no stress is needed on anyone, especially all those amazing graduates. You or all the people who try very hard to make this a very special day. Patience is a virtue!

Now, if you have a graduate attending the Eagle Valley graduation, remember this special event is always held at Carson High School - not at Eagle Valley Middle School. This year, they will be honoring a longtime counselor, Mr. Warren Wish, as he retires from the district. More than 30 years of educational commitment to our local children. Those who know Warren know he counseled children in a way that no other in the district ever has, with his unique guide dog program.

It allowed the children a sense of pride and commitment that eased away other things. Each child enjoyed companionship with their very own puppies, which always brighten t heir days. Good luck, Warren, and thank you for all the children you helped with such a different approach.

This is the big one! Yes, they made it and they are looking good. You'll want to see them walk across the stage to accept their hard-earned diploma while getting out the Kleenex.

Don't miss this coming Saturday at Carson High School. I'll be there in the background cheering on Ashley Standridge on her way and wishing the best to each and every 2008 CHS graduate. Good luck, and an outstanding future is waiting for you all.

If you don't have a graduate and you want to help out a great cause, head over to the newly furbished Elks Lodge. Drove by the other day and saw lots of construction work going on. I also have to say they do have the best Tequila Sunrise you'll ever have in town, thanks to their great bartenders. So enjoy a tasty spaghetti dinner with the works and help assist the local veterans.
