Kathryn Anne Parrish, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, after a courageous fight with cancer, went home to be with the lord in early morning of Oct. 31, 2008. She was born Jan. 25, 1938 to Bonnie Bell and John Cummings in Summerville, Ga.

Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents and two older sisters Dorothy and Drucilla.

Kathryn is survived by her five children, Gail Brown and her husband David of Katy, Texas, Bonnie Amato of San Antonio, Texas, Deanna Schalk and her husband Peter of San Antonio, Texas, Craig Parrish and his wife Sandy of Sparks, and John Parrish of Carson City. Kathryn's grandchildren are Nicholas Brown and his wife Amanda of Great Lakes, Ill., Christopher Brown of Katy, Texas, Amanda and Tiffany Amato of Fairfield, Calif., Michael Amato serving the U.S. Army currently deployed to Afghanistan, Alex and Eva Schalk of San Antonio, Texas, and Kaitlyn, Tyler and Justin Parrish of Sparks. Her great grandchildren are Marcus Brown and Forrest Amato-Van Dyke.

Kathryn enjoyed a wonderfully full life. She earned a bachelor's degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1980. Working in the hospital industry for over 20 years where she retired from St. Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco, Calif. in 1999 then relocated to beautiful Carson City.

The family and her many friends will always carry Kathryn's memory in their hearts.

Service and funeral were held at the old Goodland Chapel and Cemetery at 11 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2008. The service was officiated by Brother Colby Bryant of Hugo, OK. Arrangements by Lampton-Mills-Prater and Coffey, 216 E. Jackson, Hugo, OK 74743. 580-326-6464
